Question 1

How long should I stay after heart bypass surgery abroad?

Accepted Answer

Hospital stays after CABG are often around 5 to 7 days, and many patients remain in the destination for 2 to 3 weeks in total for check-ups. Your cardiac team decides when you are fit to fly, so keep your return date flexible.

Question 2

What is usually included in a CABG package?

Accepted Answer

Packages commonly cover surgeon and anaesthetist fees, the operating theatre, a set number of ICU and ward nights, routine tests and standard in-hospital medicines. Extra nights, complications, flights, hotel stays after discharge and visa fees are often excluded. Ask for an itemised written quote.

Question 3

Which tests do hospitals ask for before quoting?

Accepted Answer

Most cardiac teams ask for a recent coronary angiogram report or images, an echocardiogram, ECG and blood results, plus details of any other conditions. Some hospitals repeat tests on arrival, which can affect the final bill.
